1) i found my book log. yes, i have a little red spiral-bound notebook with the words, "Angie's Book Log" scrawled across the front. i just hate when i want a good book to read and can't find one. so i have my log and when i hear of a good book, i write it in the log. kind of old school, i know.
in it is a 'section' called: Kids Books to Buy. and i thought i would share a couple of them with you that we have already added to our collection.
"Toes Have Wiggles, Kids Have Giggles" by Harriet Ziefert
"Zat Cat! A Haute Couture Tail" by Chesley McLaren
"ABC: A Child's First Alphabet Book" by Alison Jay (one of my favorite illustrators too!)
"Our Nest" by Reeve Lindbergh
"If Kisses Were Colors" by Janet Lawleri also found this fun site: http://www.jacketflap.com/index.asp. a fun place for those of us who dream of writing children's books.
2) i thoroughly enjoyed reading this today: 2 Nephi 9. i especially liked verses 28 and 29 about how being learned is good IF we hearken to the counsels of God. and verse 39, "remember to be carnally-minded is death, and to be Spiritually-Minded Is Life Eternal."
verse 51 is a great reminder for me..."do not spend money for that which is of no worth, nor your labor for that which cannot satisfy...feast upon that which perisheth not, neither can be corrupted, and let your soul delight in fatness." julie and i used to think the end of verse 51 applied to our 'freshman 15'. yeah, turns out it doesn't.
3) saturday was the last game and while Mr. D didn't score a goal this time, he sure had a blast.

4) have you seen all the cute stuff at lands' end? if you haven't, you need to check out their new catalog at landsend.com.kids. i haven't really ordered much from there, except for mari's school uniforms, but they have some adorable stuff, especially for girls. tights, hats, embroidered jeans and the boots! too cute.
5) here is a funny quote from conan o'brien: "The computer programmers behind the successful game SimCity have now designed a new game that allows people to run the universe as if they're God. The new game is called 'Oprah.'"
6) i have a date this friday night. and so do all of you!
oh i can't wait to see it....until next time...

Dylan gets cuter and cuter by the day! I ran across Phil's old'friend' Lindsay's blog and she is a children's book author! She has an agent and everything. I love Land's End although I don't think their adult stuff runs true to size. You can also pick up land's end stuff at sears. have a great week! Thanks for the bday card.
It was the freshman 20 baby!
Fun to read what's on your mind, Angie-- I haven't read any of those kid's books. We'll have to put them on our library list (we are 'old school' too, I guess!) Bed is on my mind tonight. Here's to another successful week. =)
I like your list of kids books. I think it's so important to have a ton of books for kids to read and love.
