dylan: "mom, what are we having for dinner?"
me: "tortellini (stuffed with ricotta and spinach, tossed with basil pesto - yum!!) and zucchini."
dylan: "yay! i love zucchini! rissa, we're having zucchini!"
what did i do to deserve this?! now before you go off confusing me with someone who is perfect, this was said while my son was having his pre-dinner snack of cheetos. not the low fat, organic, fancy-pants kind. no, no, the greasy, messy, puffy, stick-to-your-teeth kind. but hey, he'll be eating zucchini for dinner. sweet.
...and as my husband reads this, he's thinking, "boy am i glad i didn't have to be at home for dinner!" he hates my meatless concoctions.
marissa is now in first grade, which apparently qualifies her to give me attitude. how do they learn it so young? she's now added the all too familiar 'ah' at the end of her sentences.
"mom! i don't want to-wah!"
"my show was on before-rah!"
"but i really like diet pepsi-ah!"to her credit, she had a bad day. "caden was drawing peep and poop on my paper in spanish class. geez louise!"
note the footwear - love her leopard slippers. but maybe they have something to do with her fierceness?
