spring soccer

hi there...miss me?  it's been a while since i've blogged, but am going to try and keep up over the next few months.

lately the kids have been playing spring soccer at the Y.  i was a bit nervous to put marissa in because she hasn't played in a few seasons, but so far she's been doing really well, and getting more comfortable with some of the more aggressive kids.  no goals yet, but she's a couple of great assists.  a fun bonus for the kids on her team, they're coached by Olindo Mare - a kicker for the Charlotte Panthers.

dylan is playing on a U6 team that includes kids who missed the cutoff date for kindergarten and are still in pre-K.  he's huge compared to those little ones, but it has been a good confidence builder for him.  he scores a goal in every game - last saturday he scored 5.  there are a couple of other teams that are somewhat competitive but for the most part it's just watching the cluster of kids chase the ball around.

if they're having fun that's all that really matters and for the most part, the complaining has been minimal.

and on the plus side, my farmer tan is ah-mazing!
mari has had a few turns at goalie and tore it up!
this is dylan at the opening ceremonies...his face is just...DYLAN
