Sunday Six - 5/1/2011

1.  we enjoyed a glorious day at the park a few weeks ago.  krista was there with her boys and brought her camera along.  she got this awesome shots of little e.  i love her photos!!  how could you not?!

2. the basement took a major leap forward with the delivery of the drywall.  it was a great moment for us to have the first piece hung up.  we've done all (well most) of the labor and paid cash for everything.  i can't believe we have already come this far!

 we had 240 sheet delivered...who's hanging all of that?!  oh yeah, us.

3. we had a lovely easter.  eli was old enough this year to collect his own eggs and seemed to enjoy doing it.  i tried to get some photos of the kids while on our atlanta trip in their sunday getup but as always, eli was a challenge.  marissa got some cute photos of philip and i.

 i got hardly any pics of eli's face, but i love these cute hands.

4.  we're so lucky here in NC to have beautiful weather most of the time.  mari and dylan love riding their scooters and one day when we were washing out the recycling bins they got blasted with the hose by mom on their way down the driveway.  it was the perfect spring day and we were having a great time until....mari totally bailed off her scooter.  she fell really weird and wasn't able to really catch herself.  she fell face first into the driveway.  the full impact was taken by her glasses (thankfully!) but she ended up with a pretty nasty cut by her eye and the glasses were definitely the worse for wear.  thank goodness for backup pairs!

5. it's official.  e memphis j is now old enough for nursery!

6.  dylan's kindergarten class had their big field trip recently.  phil was able to go with him and got some great photos.  they played games, rode rides and took a trip on an old steam train.

when they got home phil sat me down and showed me these photos.  this was on a teacup-type of ride.  we HOWLED until our sides hurt and we were crying.  poor dylan - clearly freaked out on this ride - has the BEST facial expressions.  my sides hurt just thinking about these pictures.

 fortunately he made it off the ride no worse for the wear and came home with great stories for mom.
