halloween...

...is my LEAST favorite holiday. but when you have kids, it's not really optional. shopping for a costume can be kind of rough. but luckily we were able to satisfy the big kids and got good deals all around. dylan and eli are skeletons. i got dylan's costume at old navy and when i got to the register it had been marked down 75% to $6 - score. marissa wants to be a police officer this year. of course there is nothing like that in the little girl section. we tried one from the little boy section...it was hideous.

at target we found a police girl costume in the adult section. can i just say that every costume for an adult woman looks like it came from the cover of a porn movie? i don't understand why they all have to be so slutty. anyway, we found one in a women's small. marissa took one look at it and said, "i can't wear that! it's too immodest!" i was so happy that she recognized that the too-short dress and plunging neckline were definitely not appropriate for a grown woman, but for a tall pre-teen, it would be just perfect. and it is! it's just the right length and it's girlie and she looks adorable. i just had to make a slight adjustment to the belt because it didn't tighten as tight as she needs it.

Lots of skeletons! Brady wanted to be a skeleton this year too but I was too late so he's being some star wars guy instead! And yeah...what is up with all the slutty women's costumes???? What a good Mari for recognizing the immodesty though. You're a good mama and she looks adorable!
