blog guilt

every time i log on to my computer and see the link for my blog, i have guilt for not blogging. isn't that weird?! i mean, it's my blog right? but it looks at me with those sad, neglected eyes and i feel like i'm letting my millions of readers down. ok, well maybe not exactly but i do feel like the lack of blogging = bad journaling.

it's been great having the kiddos back in school. they're both enjoying it so much and i'm amazed at how quickly they're growing. dylan is obsessed with marissa's homework. he gets right in there and quizzes her about math and loves to help give her spelling tests. he's totally into football right now. philip is coaching his flag-football team at the Y this fall. dylan missed the first practice with the flu but will make his debut tonight. i'll try and get some photos to post. he is so excited! but i think that is only second to the thrill that his dad is getting from the whole experience. it's been fun for phil to be involved with dylan's sports. they're a great team.

marissa is really blossoming into herself and i LOVE hearing the drama from 2nd grade. boyfriends & girlfriends already?? seriously? she has a friend (a boy) that has girlfriend drama and she's like the good friend that helps him figure it out. the other day word got out that his new girlfriend was in a different class and apparently it created quite a stir in her class. she said she looked at him, shrugged her shoulders and said, "well man, sometimes things like this just happen." she's back in ballet/tap again and is such a beautiful dancer. her body seems perfectly built for it and i hope she'll want to continue as she gets older.

one of the great dreads of my life came to fruition in september. i was selected for jury duty. in retrospect it wasn't THAT bad, but being as pregnant as i am and having to depend on friends to help with the kids was a major pain. i was angry that such a frivolous civil suit would waste the time of so many people, but certainly appreciated the freedom that we enjoy in this country. if you want to take someone to court, you can pay your money and do it. but i can only imagine how lawsuits like the one i sat through clog the court system in this country every day. what a waste! i won't bore with details but basically a disgruntled customer was suing the dealership that sold them a car. there was a dispute about the title and whether it had been sold as new or used. it took us a total of about 26 seconds to decide as a jury. did i already use the words frivolous and waste? yeah i thought so. anyway, i took my hard earned $52 and hopefully that is one life experience i won't need to revisit again.

here i am as lovely juror #2 on one of my 800 potty breaks during jury duty. i'm SO pregnant.

a quick mention about the primary program - as usual with things at church, everything went fine and the kids did a great job. it was hard because we had written in parts for children who sometimes come and sometimes don't. so as the program went on, there were obvious holes (obvious to the primary presidency anyway) but it was timed just right and the little voices singing the hymns truly brought the spirit to our meeting. i loved it! but boy am i glad it's over.

you know how there is always one of the little kids, usually a sunbeam, singing really loud right in the front? well that was dylan. it was awesome. i love listening to that kid sing "how firm a foundation" at the top of his lungs, lisp and all. at the end, the bishop called him up and held him up at the pulpit so that everyone in the back could see the sweet boy who was "singing so loud."

we have experienced yet another change with philip's job. aftera few short months of enjoying the "real family life" it seems they can't get by without him. he's been traveling again these last few weeks and will continue through the end of the season (nov. 22). it's been hard - we miss "happy phil" terribly. he's been able to continue with his calling and still manage to kick butt on the GMAT in the process. his interview with the program is next week. truthfully i'm a bit jealous. i would LOVE to go back to school again. obviously now isn't the right time, but hopefully when this baby is a little older i'll be able to do that. phil's ability to keep plugging along never ceases to amaze me, but the man could use a serious vacation!

i guess that about sums up the last month. if baby#3 (he still does not have a name yet) hasn't arrived before november 23rd, i will be induced that morning. both grandma's will be here and i'm just ready to get on with it! i'm still feeling well, just really, really tired now.

anyway, here are a couple of cute blackberry gems...there seems to be a theme, although an unplanned one!

dylan loves wearing glasses - especially his sister's. the shades were some that he picked out for himself - they're kind of evil kinevil-ish.

till next time lonely blog....

I am COMPLETELY with you on the 'blog guilt'. . . I guess we let ourselves have guilt any which way we can find it?? hmmmm. . . fun to see how you're doing, though. We've been discussing NC quite a bit in our plans to relocate from Detroit, so I've been thinking about you - any thoughts? Good luck with the last bit of being an incubator.

Funny about your jury duty; I was summoned in September too, but I got to plead "I take care of my kids during the day"-- didn't you have that choice? I just had to fill something out saying I had a full time obligation to someone who couldn't care for themselves and then send it in the mail. Good for you for being a good (pregnant) citizen though! =) Fun pics of Dylan and cute that he was singing so well in the program. Can't wait to meet your nameless baby!!

Great post, Ang! Can you update my blog, too? Man, I can relate with the guilt (not that I have millions of readers- I just want to be better at journalling). Cute prego pictures. Post some more!=)

oh my! Where do I start??? First off...you're radiant! You seriously look so beautiful! Can't wait for that little bun to debut! Second...$52 for Jury Duty??? TJ only got paid $18 for an entire day. LAME! Third...how cute that the Bishop recognized Dylan as the cute sunbeam singing at the top of his lungs. That really is sweet and, I've gotta be honest...brought a little tear to my eye. Fourth, Mari cracks me up! I can just hear her giving advice to the lovelorn friend! And it is rather scandalous when you're in second grade and boyfriends and girlfriends don't end up in the same class. Oh if life could stay that simple! Hahahahahaha! Fifth, that SUCKS about Phil, but then again, don't you feel a bit smug about the fact that they couldn't live without him? I am! And last, but certainly not least, Dylan is so handsome with his eye wear! Cute cute cute!!!!! Love you bunches. We WILL talk this week!
