twilight zone

monday i was minding my own business, cleaning my oven. as i went to wipe under the handle of the drawer beneath the oven, i felt my finger jam against something and i knew right away, i'd ripped my fingernail off. it was bleeding a good bit and my stomach turned as i looked down and saw deep underneath it.

i went into panic mode, called mari and had her help me bandage it up. i knew it had torn from my finger but it was still attached. as the day wore on, i was convinced that i was going to have to have someone come over and pull it off for me. i was just too freaked out about it and it HURT bad.

i needed help so i called my friend sabrina - she's a few years ahead of me and one of the sharpest, sauciest gals i know. i love her like i love my own mother...she takes great care of my and my little ones. she hurried over to the pharmacy and picked up some supplies for me. collectively we decided not to pull the nail off and here i am, 5 days later, still hoping it will start to reattach. she brought me this:

...my lovely little blue finger cast. this is the only thing that has kept me sane this week, since every time my finger is bumped i get a massive chill of the heebeegeebees because i can feel that nail is not attached. ew!!

WHILE i was on the phone with sabrina that night, i heard a scream from marissa's room and rushed in to find dylan holding his face, which i quickly saw was covered with blood. the rascals were wrestling and he went face first into the nightstand. here was the damage the morning after...sorry, it's gross...

it was one of those days where i felt the whole world was going mad! dylan has since recovered well ("mommy, the bump on my lip is all gone!"), and hopefully the insanity has come to an end.

The fake nails do that the worst too.
