*ugh* so maybe they're not SO bad ALL the time, but the talking back is wearin' me out! all i want is a simple, "yes mommy." is that too much to ask? please tell me they grow out of it!
ps... car shopped all day long - no purchase yet. we drove the enclave, which is nice, but the sales manager was such a slimeball. we got our keys back and got the heck out of there! the mercedes was also very nice and i didn't even give the enclave a second look after driving that baby! but, the one we were looking at doesn't have all the features i'm looking for.
more shopping next week...keep your comments coming!

Sounds like they need a visit from Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle...
Natalie is sooooooooooooooo in that phase. EVERYTHING is an argument and its driving me NUTS!!!! I totally sympathize!
I second Amy--- have you read any of those books to Mari yet? They're great.
We are using this, "As soon as you...we/you can..." and it is working well with Kate (and sometimes Ian).
"As soon as you brush your teeth, we can read stories."
"As soon as you eat your dinner, we can go for a bike ride."
"As soon as you kneel down, we can pray."
It doesn't really leave room for a come-back-- but rather directs them and lets them feel a little bit in control...
